Fiber Components Development

Fiber lasers have gained more and more importance due to their high overall efficiency and excellent beam quality. Fiber lasers have demonstrated multi-kW power levels and with the advent of Fiber Bragg Gratings and fiber coupled pump diodes, ‘all fiber’ systems can be achieved with the help of appropriate fused fiber components. All fiber components bring with them increase in stability, long term reliability and robustness of fiber lasers as compared to their bulk optics counterparts. Some of the Useful Components are:
- Tapered Fiber Bundle
- Beam Combiner
- Mode Field Adaptor
- Fiber Output Coupler
- End-Cap
- Fiber Wavelength Division Multiplexor
Research is being continued in exploring the above areas. Required equipment is present which includes Vytran LDC-200 Cleaver, Vytran GPX-3000 Splicer, Vytran PTR-200 Recoater and UltraPol fiber Polisher.
